Popular Cow Breeds
The cattle industry is a big business and a great part of America. For hundreds of years farmers have raised cows on their farms as a family business. The entire family works as one unit to keep it running. Even now there are some small and very big farms that still help raise these cows for food, milk, and many other things.
One thing that these farms, families, and cows participate in are cow shows. There are several various breeds of cows that are shown off in these shows - which makes it a great experience to go to. Many of the most common breeds that you can see are Angus, Shorthorn, and Limousine.
Angus
The most ordinary of the cattle breeds that we all know is the Angus. They are more normally recognized for the quality and pleasing beef that we savor at a few of the best restaurants. Though they are somewhat smaller than most other kinds of breeds they are thought to be the best tasting.
Shorthorn
The shorthorn cattle is an English breed that has some similar features with the Angus. They are a gentle and subdued breed and like the Angus offer some fabulous tasting beef that is high quality. Yet, the shorthorn are breed not simply for their beef - but likewise for their milk.
Limousine
No we aren't talking about the car. The Limousine cattle breed come from France and are red - although most of them are black. They are a few of the toughest to bring to cattle shows because of how irritable they can be. However, their meat is very profitable on the market - which is what makes them noteworthy.
